That’s why our Climate Change group works with clients to develop strategies domestically and internationally to minimise their risk – and maximise their opportunities.

Our experience includes advising a range of clients on:

• the establishment of managed investment schemes investing in green rights within the framework of existing and emerging regulatory regimes;
• the design of mandatory renewable energy and GHG abatement schemes;
• the structure of voluntary abatement projects, and accreditation under related Government schemes;
• amendments to rules in energy markets such as electricity and gas; and
• implications of the generation and trading of environmental credits under the Financial Services Reform Act.

Clayton Utz has also been appointed by the Australian Department of Climate Change to its Panel to advise on the design and implementation of Australia's emissions trading scheme, the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme.
