09 May 2017

Sydney, 09 May 2017: Clayton Utz partners Caroline Bush, Nikki Robinson and Kirsten Webb were among just 22 senior legal practitioners to receive national accolades at the second annual Lawyers Weekly Partner of the Year Awards. The Awards celebrate the recent contributions and achievements of outstanding partners in the legal industry.

Caroline, who heads the firm's Canberra office and is a partner in the Public Sector practice group, was named Partner of the Year in Government, while Competition national practice group leader Kirsten took out the Competition, Trade & Regulation category. Real Estate national practice group leader Nikki secured the Real Estate award for the second consecutive year.

Commenting on the achievement, Caroline credited the accolade to her colleagues and clients. "I am very fortunate to work with a fantastic group of people and also to have had the support of some truly inspirational mentors over the years" said Caroline. "My Australian Government clients also play a big role in this success. They put a great deal of trust in me and the firm as their legal advisers, and I value the many opportunities I've had to work closely with them and to build that relationship."

Kirsten was similarly delighted to be recognised along with so many outstanding candidates. "There were over 160 worthy finalists, including my colleagues in the Competition, Trade & Regulation category. To be recognised reflects the incredible talent of the team and calibre of clients we work with every day."

Commenting on her repeated success, Nikki said it was an unexpected but welcome surprise. "It's been an extremely busy and exciting year for all the players in the property industry. We are seeing substantial growth in our practice thanks to foreign investment and a buoyant property market. This recognition speaks to the amazing team and loyal clients we have at Clayton Utz - no partner could succeed without the support of both."

Five other Clayton Utz partners were award finalists in other categories: Stuart Byrne (Commercial), Sergio Capelli (Construction & Infrastructure), Mark Geritz (Native Title), Alan Maguire (Projects, Energy and Resources) and Rory Moriarty (Mergers & Acquisitions).
