Media Release: Clayton Utz recognised as Copyright winner at the 2019 Managing IP Asia Awards

Sydney, 3 April 2019: Clayton Utz was awarded Copyright Firm of the Year for Australia at the recent 2019 Managing Intellectual Property Asia Awards.

The awards ceremony was held in Hong Kong on 20 March 2019.

Clayton Utz National Practice Group Leader – Intellectual Property & Technology, John Collins, said he was pleased  to see the firm recognised as a leader in this aspect of  intellectual property, given the increasing importance of copyright in the digital age.  "We are proud to boast one of Australia's largest and most experienced teams of intellectual property and copyright experts.  We have supported a range of clients in a number of cases, including the first Australian cases under section 115A of the Copyright Act, and with advice on various copyright issues." he said.

Clayton Utz is known for its copyright expertise, particularly in identifying and advising on copyright issues in new and emerging technologies.  The firm is currently advising a range of clients on copyright issues, including the largest media monitoring service provider in the Asia-Pacific, an Australian womenswear company, a global GPS systems company, and a multinational automotive manufacturer.

The award comes off the back of Clayton Utz being recognised at the Innovation at the 2019 IFLR awards.
