Media Release: Clayton Utz named among leading workplaces who give back
Clayton Utz is proud to feature in GoodCompany's 2019 best workplaces to give back program – one of only two law firms on the list.
GoodCompany named 40 organisations that it says best empower their people to have a positive social impact through donations, fundraising, and volunteering.
At Clayton Utz:
- 32% of our people make regular workplace giving contributions to the Clayton Utz Foundation via their salary or income distributions;
- We have partnerships with 30 not-for-profit organisations through our Community Connect program (including Wayside Chapel, Australian Red Cross, Ardoch Foundation and Cerebral Palsy Alliance), providing financial and in-kind support, volunteering and access to training;
- 36% of our people have used their Community Leave day (paid leave provided by the firm) to volunteer with one of the firm's Community Partners.
Clayton Utz National Manager – Community, Anna Pavincich, said the firm had invested considerable thought into the design of its Workplace Giving and Community Connect programs for maximum impact in helping to direct funds and volunteering efforts where they are most needed.
"We've put a lot of time into building long-term partnerships with organisations so we truly understand what kind of support from us is best going to meet the needs of our community partners," said Anna.
"Our people are really proud of our programs and how they, at an individual level, can help our community partners carry out the important work they do in a range of areas."
The Clayton Utz Foundation supports the firm's Community Connect program, both of which were established in 2003. In the 15 years since it was founded, the Foundation has made $10.8 million in grants to over 240 not-for-profits and charitable organisations working to improve access to justice and address disadvantage.
