Media Release: Clayton Utz recognised as diversity leader for fifth year in a row
Sydney, 25 February 2019: Clayton Utz has been recognised as an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality (EOCGE) for 2018/19 by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) today, for its fifth consecutive year.
The firm is one of 141 organisations to achieve the citation, which recognises the commitment and actions employers are taking towards realising workplace gender equality.
The citation criteria assesses employers on leadership, learning and development, gender remuneration gaps, gender equality targets as well as flexible working and other initiatives to support family responsibilities.
Clayton Utz Chief Executive Partner Rob Cutler said this citation reflects the firm's commitment to making gains in its gender diversity approach.
According to WGEA, trends to supporting diversity in 2018/19 include entrenching organisation-wide flexible work practices, tailored parental leave policies to support take up by both women and men, programs to increase women in leadership, initiatives to support women to return to work and robust analysis and correction of gender pay gaps.
The firm is seeing improvements in gender diversity at senior levels and is on track to meet its target of 35 per cent of women in the partnership by 2022.
Mr Cutler said, "Over the years we have made a conscious and diligent effort to address and support gender diversity in the workplace including setting gender targets, addressing gender pay equity and appointing a dedicated Flexibility Manager which reflects the firm's commitment to embracing a flexible work culture."
