Media release: Clayton Utz client voestalpine Railway Systems Australia secures $225 million contract extension with NSW Government

Sydney, 5 April 2022: Clayton Utz has advised voestalpine Railway Systems Australia Pty Ltd (vaRSAU) on its successful 5-year $225 million contract extension to supply the New South Wales Government with its Sydney metropolitan and greater NSW rail flash-butt welding, turnout and other track component requirements, announced last week.

vaRSAU, which operates in Mackay and Bathurst, is part of voestalpine AG, an Austrian steel-based technology and capital goods group which is a market leader in turnout technology for railways, metros and tramways.

Corporate partner Samy Mansour, together with Construction and Major Projects partner Stuart Cosgriff and lawyer Charis Chan, advised vaRSAU on the transaction.

Samy said the team was pleased to see vaRSAU's continued growth.
