Media release: Clayton Utz announces three new partner promotions
Leading law firm Clayton Utz has made three promotions to our partnership, effective 1 July 2023: Tim Donisi, Greg Midgley and Katy Warner.
Chief Executive Partner Emma Covacevich said:
Tim, Greg and Katy have grown their careers with us and represent the qualities that make for outstanding lawyers and people. We're proud to see them achieve this significant milestone.
Tim Donisi, Commercial Litigation | Perth
Tim's Clayton Utz career began in 2007, when he joined us as a graduate in Perth. He is a commercial litigator with a diverse practice focusing on energy and resources, government, and insurance disputes. Tim manages a wide range of complex and often legally ground-breaking cases for his private and public sector clients, including disputes arising from the operation of oil and gas assets, fast-evolving climate change risks and regulatory investigations.
"Working at Clayton Utz has given me the opportunity to work on many interesting and challenging matters, alongside fantastic clients, and as part of a truly collaborative, supportive and innovative team. I feel lucky to have built my career here, and I look forward to continuing to help our clients get commercial outcomes when facing litigation."
Greg Midgley, Major Projects & Construction | Brisbane/Darwin
Greg joined Clayton Utz in Brisbane in 2007, and his career with us has seen him progress from mail room to partner. He has worked at top tier law firms in New York and London, most recently in 2018 before returning to CU. Greg has a global perspective and a broad commercial practice spanning both construction and finance law, with particular expertise in the structuring, funding and development of major infrastructure projects in the transport and energy sectors. Greg has relocated to Darwin to head up our front-end Northern Australia practice.
"The reason I've stayed true to Clayton Utz over the years is the people we get to work with on a daily basis. We have a tremendously talented team that works hard to assist our smart and down-to-earth clients on their most complex and challenging transactions. Cutting through the legal complexity and drawing on our experiences to offer simple, commercial solutions to complex problems is a rewarding way to serve our clients and the broader community."
Katy Warner, Corporate, M&A & Capital Markets | Brisbane
Katy has been with Clayton Utz her entire career, joining our Melbourne office as a graduate in 2010 and relocating to Brisbane the following year. An energy and resource specialist, Katy's practice includes advising on upstream exploration and development, downstream supply and distribution of commodities and the acquisition and disposal of interests in exploration and development projects. Katy's 'sweet spot' is mergers and acquisitions, having worked on some of the most significant M&A transactions in the oil & gas sector in more recent years.
"Clayton Utz feels like home to me. Our clients and our people are why I love my job. I get to work with some of the most talented and intelligent people in the industry."
