Media Release: Clayton Utz Board Chair Karen O'Flynn appointed as CBA Group General Counsel

Clayton Utz congratulates our Board Chair and partner of 28 years' standing, Karen O'Flynn, who has accepted the position of Group General Counsel and Group Executive Legal & Group Secretariat at the Commonwealth Bank. Karen's appointment was announced yesterday.

Karen became a partner of our firm in 1996 and has held several leadership roles during her career with us, including National Practice Group Leader of our Restructuring and Insolvency practice, Diversity Council member, Board director for three consecutive terms, and Chair since 2020. She is respected in our firm and the legal industry for her client service ethic and as a sponsor and mentor of rising talent.

Karen will begin her new role on 1 September 2023, subject to regulatory approvals.
