Matt Spain has joined our firm in Melbourne as a partner in our top-ranked [1] national Litigation and Dispute Resolution team.

Matt brings with him a successful general commercial litigation practice with a particular focus on financial services disputes (particularly superannuation), class actions, regulatory investigations, and commissions and inquiries. He has represented several financial clients in a number of significant regulatory investigations and disputes, as well as in the Financial Services Royal Commission. We look forward to Matt's industry connections and expertise strengthening our firm's superannuation offering.

Matt is joining with two lawyers from his team, Lucy Walsh and Margit Baranyay.

Clayton Utz National Practice Group Leader - Litigation, Greg Williams, said Matt's focus on financial services disputes and superannuation, as well as his professional reputation, made him an excellent fit for our firm.

"Matt is respected as an outstanding lawyer whose clients value his calm and considered approach to guiding them through complex disputes and matters. Matt's experience and sector focus, in particular his superannuation expertise, is a good strategic fit for our existing litigation offering and we're pleased to welcome him, Lucy and Margit to the team."
