Media Release: Clayton Utz advising Ardea Resources on its joint venture with a Japanese Consortium to develop Kalgoorlie Nickel Project – Goongarrie Hub
Clayton Utz is advising Ardea Resources Ltd (ASX: ARL) on the entry into a Cooperation Agreement with a consortium consisting of Mitsubishi Corporation and Sumitomo Metal Mining Co. Ltd (Japanese Consortium), to form a joint venture and develop Ardea's Kalgoorlie Nickel Project – Goongarrie Hub.
Corporate Partner Mark Paganin and Special Counsel Scott Girdler are leading the firm's team, with key support from Senior Associate Georgia Mazzega and Lawyer Daniel Martinez.
The Cooperation Agreement sets out the terms under which Ardea and the Japanese Consortium will form a joint venture to fund and conduct a Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) on the Kalgoorlie Nickel Project – Goongarrie Hub. Ardea and the Japanese Consortium expect the DFS to commence during the first half of 2024 and be completed by the second half of 2025.

Ardea's major project is the Kalgoorlie Nickel Project – Goongarrie Hub, located 70km northwest of the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, which hosts one of the largest undeveloped nickel-cobalt resources in the world.
