Clayton Utz has advised multi-national investment bank Goldman Sachs (as Mandated Lead Arranger) and an impressive group of lenders on AUB Group Limited's $850 million syndicated refinancing.

With the continued rise of insurance premiums (a consequence of factors including the pandemic, natural disasters and inflation), the insurance brokerage industry has been performing strongly.

Clayton Utz also acted for Goldman Sachs on the original $675m financing which was used, in part, by AUB to acquire Tysers in 2022.

Head of Clayton Utz's Banking and Financial Services group, Alex Schlosser, led the refinancing with support from Special Counsel Jeremy Murnain and lawyers Kate Cronin and Rachel Hurwitz.

Mr Schlosser said:

AUB is an incredible business and the huge amount of interest in this financing is testament to that. This role required a huge effort from a team of advisors spread across several time zones. Collaboration is key and I was delighted with the service levels and commitment the team maintained throughout.
