17 Jun 2024

The background

We have been advising the Department of Home Affairs on the 'Future Compute Program', which involves the delivery of critical systems that are vital to the Department's core business and Australia's national security. Our advice has focussed on the procurement of mainframe and midrange enterprise computing and storage services essential for various mission-critical functions such as intelligence analysis, risk profiling, passenger processing, cargo management, and border security. The procurements aim to replace an existing contract worth A$924.2 million.

Our services

Our advice encompasses drafting contracts, advising on request for tender (RFT) documents, managing business-as-usual (BAU) arrangements, and transitioning activities. Additionally, the team is involved in software licensing, hardware acquisition, and developing innovative contract frameworks. Our advice has been specifically sought out in the developing of procurement processes, managing legal risks, collaborating with technical teams, and modernising ICT infrastructure for government clients.
