Alison Packham is an accomplished environmental and planning law practitioner and strategist based in Sydney. Advising a range of government and private clients, she specialises in delivering infrastructure and development projects, land acquisition, approvals, compliance and associated litigation.

Alison also specialises in carbon crediting and project issues for carbon abatement projects, and managing the implications of emerging carbon policy and legislation.

Notable Work
  • Lead advisor to NSW Government on land acquisition and project issues for the Central-West Orana Transmission Project and Hunter Transmission Project.
  • Has provided land acquisition, access, planning pathway and compliance advice for TransGrid's Energy Connect Project, including on Crown lands and Western lands issues.
  • Large scale land acquisition project management for the Sydney Metro's North West Project, South West Project and CBD to Pyrmont projects.
  • Provides land acquisition advice and litigation for Transport for NSW arising from road projects, such as the Pacific Highway Upgrade, WestConnex, NorthConnex, Sydney Gateway Project, Coffs Harbour Bypass.
  • Works on land acquisition projects for Health Infrastructure hospital and ambulance infrastructure projects, securing community title land for the new Rouse Hill hospital, Crown land for the Shoalhaven Hospital redevelopment.
  • Advising QIC on carbon crediting, additionality and reporting advice under the Carbon Credits (Carbon Farming Initiative) Act 2011, National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act 2007
  • Advises on Reform and application of Water Industry and Competition Act 2006 licensing and access matters for public and private water utilities, and developers.
  • Advises on complex State and Commonwealth heritage issues, state and regional planning strategies and Crown Land issues for government agencies, such as Port of Newcastle, Urban Growth NSW, Venues NSW and the Greater Sydney Commission.
  • Advises on acquisition process, licensing and approval issues and environmental assessment reviews for Australian Rail Track Corporation's Inland Rail Project.
  • Advises on contamination and planning solutions for HammondCare's aged care developments.
