Notable Work
  • Idemtisu Australia: advising on its divestment of the Ensham Mine for Sungela Pty Ltd, including sale agreement, royalties and security.
  • Enel Green Power S.p.A.: advising in resepct of its sale of 50% of Enel Green Power Australia to Inpex Corporation.
  • Consortium: advising major Japanese steel makers and commodities traders (Nippon Steel Corporation, Mitsui & Co., Ltd, Nippon Steel Trading Corporation, Shinsho Corporation, and JFE Mineral Co., Ltd) on their acquisition of a 12% interest in the Grosvenor coal mine in Queensland, Australia from global mining company Anglo American, a complex transaction which resulted in the equalisation of interests with the neighbouring Moranbah North coal mine.
  • Tokyo Gas: advising in relation to their joint venture with Shell and CNOOC for the A$26 billion Queensland LNG Project. Tokyo Gas is a minority non-operator participant in the project. Andrew also advised Tokyo Gas in respect of Shell's sale of an interest in the common facilities of the project for US$2.5 billion.
  • Sugar Terminals Limited: Providing ongoing advice to in respect of its sugar export terminals in Queensland.
  • ITOCHU Corporation: acting for on its farm-in into the Karin coal project including royalty, marketing caveats and mortgage arrangements.
  • Queensland Competition Authority: acting for the in respect of Aurizon Network's proposed Standard User Funding Agreement, a suite of documentation to permit user funded expansions of the Central Queensland Coal Network.
  • Mitsubishi Development: advising on the BMA coal joint venture with BHP and the sale of the Gregory Crinium mine to Sojitz.
  • Southern Ports Authority: acting for in respect of its leasing, storage and handling arrangements with an exporter of iron ore, including assistance with the drafting of briefing and board papers for the Western Australian Government.
  • Commonwealth of Australia: advising the in respect of the storage of crude oil at the Strategic Petroleum Reserve in the US.
