Overview

Fiona specialises in restructuring and insolvency, advising creditors and insolvency practitioners on all aspects of formal and informal insolvency processes, restructuring and insolvency disputes as well as distressed corporate transactions. Fiona also has experience acting in a range of commercial litigation matters, including shareholder disputes, breach of directors' duties, misleading or deceptive conduct and breach of contract claims.

Notable Work
  • Alita: acted for the deed administrators of Alita Resources Limited, including the restructure and sale of the lithium mining business to Mineral Resources Limited.
  • Arbitration: acted in relation to two arbitrations commenced under the Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration Rules concerning a shareholder dispute.
  • Banks and financial services: advising on all aspects of Australian insolvency law, including enforcement and debt recovery.
  • Forge: acted for the receivers and managers of the Forge group of companies in relation to a range of major contractual disputes.
  • Public sector: advising public sector clients in relation to the appointment of voluntary administrators or restructure of private third party contractors.
  • Port Village: acted for the liquidators of Port Village Accommodation in proceedings to recover unfair preferences under the Corporations Act.
  • Director duties: acted for directors in defending proceedings in the Federal Court of Australia alleging breaches of directors' duties.
