Overview

Paula's clients receive practical, strategic and commercially driven advice and assistance across a broad range of property matters and major projects.  She has an astute understanding of the issues pertaining to land tenure and titling, property and infrastructure development and property management across both the public and private sectors. Paula also has particular expertise in lease negotiations, acquisitions and disposals, major infrastructure projects, social and affordable housing and navigating state land issues.

Notable Work
  • State of Queensland: advising in relation to a multitude of housing projects across the State which are aimed at increasing the much needed social and affordable housing in Queensland, including provision of funding under the Queensland Housing Investment Growth Initiative (which incorporates the $2B Housing Investment Fund) and the Queensland Government's Build to Rent Pilot Projects.
  • Hydrogen facility development: advising an undisclosed client in relation to the property aspects of the development of a new Hydrogen facility in Queensland, including all the supporting infrastructure required to ensure the efficient operation of the facility.
  • Minister for Economic Development Queensland: Advising in respect of its involvement in the Parklands Precinct Project, which has been designed to convert the Commonwealth Games Athlete's Village into Queensland's first "Build to Rent" project.
  • Queensland Hydro: assisting develop their 2 new pumped hydro energy storage facilities including assisting in its land acquisition strategy for its new Pioneer-Burdekin Project.
  • Brisbane City Council: acting on the development of the Howard Smith Wharves Project. She has been the main contact in the implementation of the property aspects of the Project Agreement and has assisted Council navigate the final delivery of the Project, with the grant of the various leases within the Howard Smith Wharves Precinct (including wet tenure).
  • Frucor Suntory: advised in respect of its development of its $400m+ new state of the art net zero manufacturing and distribution facility in Swanbank.
  • BP: advises on its acquisition, development and leasing work in Queensland.
  • QIC: acted in the disposal of retail assets and peripheral land.Paula is also assisting QIC with its solar roll out across retail assets and has assisted with the renewal of QIC’s head office in Brisbane.
  • Cross River Rail Delivery Authority: assisting with a range of property related aspects of the new Cross River Rail system currently being developed in Brisbane.
  • Department of Transport and Main Roads: assisting in relation to various transport projects including Ferny Grove TOD, Gold Coast Light Rail and Faster Rail.
