  • Advised various clients on their responses to data breaches involving personal information, including the development of internal procedures and guidance, advising on assessment and notification obligations under privacy laws and assisting with notifications to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner and affected individuals.
  • Assisted various clients with privacy reviews and privacy impact assessments, including conducting privacy audits, recommending changes to meet privacy requirements and assisting to implement those changes.
  • Advised on and developed online contracts for numerous clients (including website terms and conditions and privacy notices), including advising on the enforceability of online contracts, issues in relation to contracting with minors and strategies to increase the likelihood of online contracts being enforceable.
  • Advised Monash University on a range of research, commercialisation and IP licensing arrangements with various public and private sector institutions and companies, including research collaboration agreements, research services agreement, participant agreements for government funded research hubs and commercialisation arrangements for a popular mobile application and an on-line educational software tool.
  • Advised Toyota Australia on a wide range of Toyota and Lexus marketing activities, including the negotiation of Toyota's sponsorships of the Australian Football League, Cricket Australia and football clubs, and advising on privacy matters including data sharing arrangements, developing privacy documentation and advising on the privacy impact of proposed uses of customer information.
  • Advised adidas Australia on numerous sponsorship agreements, marketing agency agreements, promotional agreements and marketing activities, including sponsorships of Hawthorn Football Club and the Australian Olympic Committee, agreements with adidas ambassadors and various competitions and promotional activities, and advised on distribution arrangements and various privacy matters.
  • Advised on privacy and data security aspects of various government IT procurements, including for Reserve Bank of Australia, Department of Health and Human Services (Victoria), South East Water and Queensland Treasury.
