Australian law firm Clayton Utz is pleased to welcome risk advisory expert Doug Nixon to its partnership.

Mr Nixon has more than 20 years' experience providing strategic risk advice to business leaders and board directors at organisations across industries and around the world.

He has particular expertise in financial services, insurance and superannuation, and has also worked extensively providing advice to regulated infrastructure organisations  and state-owned corporations.

Mr Nixon joins Clayton Utz from EY, where he was most recently Banking and Capital Markets Lead. He is the former head of EY Oceania’s Financial Services Risk Management Practice, has spent considerable time working in the European and US markets, and brings deep expertise in building risk advisory businesses both domestically and globally.

Clayton Utz Chair, Ross McInnes, said Mr Nixon's expertise comes as Australian business leaders and board directors face a rapidly shifting risk landscape.

'We know that business leaders and board directors are facing complex and ever-changing challenges, both at a business and individual level,' Mr McInnes said.

'From cyber and privacy risks, to governance and environmental risks, we're seeing an increased need for risk advice from clients across industries.'

'Risk advisory work is a core component of our client offering and Doug's experience will complement our existing specialised expertise in cyber security, investigations, data analytics and eDiscovery.'

'With Doug's appointment we'll be able to broaden and strengthen the strategic risk advisory advice we offer some of Australia's largest businesses as they navigate their shifting challenges.'
