Overview
With 30 years of experience practising exclusively in real estate law, Lisa provides her clients with a sophisticated understanding of applicable legislative obligations and constraints alongside considered commercial advice. Her work involves advising clients on real estate development, subdivisions and major projects, property sales and acquisitions and commercial, retail and industrial leasing and other occupation arrangements. She also has extensive experience in the real estate aspects of M&A transactions.
Notable Work
- Prepared a full suite of standard leasing documents for use by Monash University, including on-campus and commercial office leasing.
- Part of the team that advised Monash University on the recently launched property deal which will see Modern open the southern hemisphere's first mRNA vaccine facility at Monash's Technology Precinct.
- Assisted Plenary Group in respect of property due diligence associated with the New Footscray Hospital, and preparing pro forma licence documentation for the commercial opportunity areas, as well as due diligence associated with the proposed Frankston Hospital redevelopment.
- Acted for the Epworth Foundation in the redevelopment and expansion of the Epworth Eastern hospital, including the acquisition and subsequent disposal of adjacent sites, and the preparation of leases, subleases and easements for the purposes of satisfying planning requirements for parking, access and provision of services
- Involved in drafting and negotiating various access licences and cost sharing and service agreements for Villawood for access to, or development of, third party land.
- Acts for Ridley Corporation and its associated subsidiaries in the disposal of surplus and/or redundant industrial sites in Victoria and South Australia.
- Assisted Blackstone with property and leasing due diligence for the acquisition of, and proposed IPO for, multi-billion-dollar industrial portfolios across Australia.
- Acting for the Level Crossings Removal Project in relation to the proposed integrated development opportunity sites associated with the Victorian Government's level crossings removal program. This has included providing advice on possible alternative methods to secure the disposal of land from the State to developers to comply with relevant State policies, advising on and preparation of agreements in respect of the transfer of ownership of fixed improvements independently of any interest in the underlying land, and the grant and/or surrender of leases.
- Acting for North East Link Program in relation to the sports and recreation facility relocations required for the Victorian Government's North East Link project, including preparing, reviewing and negotiating agreements for construction of works and provision of funding grants with various public and private organisations.
- Acting for Development Victoria on the hotel and mixed-use development components of the Geelong Exhibition and Event Centre project, preparing the Development Agreements, leases and ancillary builder and financier side deeds, and identifying and advising on the materiality of departures requested by respondents to those template documents.
